I tried the super heavy collaboration burger with the movie 'Back to the Future' at JS BURGER CAFE

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of the movie 'Back to the Future' (BTTF), the hamburger shop

JS BURGER CAFE introduced a collaboration menu starting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, so I went to try it.

The collaboration is being carried out at eight stores: miredo Sapporo, LUMINE Ikebukuro, LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi, LaLaport Ebina, mozo Wonder City Nagoya, LaLaport EXPOCITY, Kobe UMIE, and JS BURGERS CAFE Jr. Koshigaya Laketown.

The collaboration menu consists of three items: 'Chicken Cheeseburger 'Marty ver.',' 'Crushed Beef Burger 'Biff ver.',' and '1.21 Jigowatt Mint Vanilla Shake 'Doc ver.'.'

When you order from the food menu at lunchtime, a salad bar and drink are included.

Each burger comes with a side of fries. The fillings are large and difficult to eat as is, so it's best to transfer the burger to the wrapping paper provided at each table before eating. The wrapping paper is also BTTF-themed, and includes references from the series, such as 'Save the Clock Tower.'

The Chicken Cheeseburger 'Marty ver.' (2,035 yen including tax) is made with chunks of fried chicken.

When I removed the top bun, it looked like this, with five pieces of fried chicken with Cajun spice sauce sandwiched on top of the patty.

The cross section of the burger after wrapping it and cutting it looks like this. The sauce is sweet and spicy, and goes perfectly with the chicken. It's a sturdy burger that reminds me of Marty, who is known for being a 'chicken guy' but shows his true determination when it comes to his work.

On the other hand, the Crushed Beef Burger 'Beef ver.' (2,530 yen including tax) is characterized by its generous amount of crunchy fried onions.

Even after removing the bun, it's covered in fried onions. Perhaps this reflects the image of 'Biff being buried.'

Under the fried onions is corned beef and a patty.

The meaty texture that peeks out from between the crunchy pieces may represent Biff's 'hatefulness.' The mustard sauce was also quite spicy, making this a burger that rivals Marty's.

The dessert is the '1.21 Jigowatt Mint Vanilla Shake Doc ver.' (990 yen including tax).

It comes with a plate commemorating the 40th anniversary of BTTF, and the whipped cream is sprinkled with popping candy, and the candy creates an explosive image.

Under the whipped cream is a mint vanilla shake with two kinds of berry sauce. If your mind is clear, you might come up with a quirky invention like Doc.

For all burgers, you can change the plate to a collaboratively designed frisbee (3 types in total) for an additional 1,100 yen (tax included), and for shakes, you can change to a collaboratively designed stadium cup with a lid (2 types in total) for an additional 880 yen (tax included).

The collaboration menu will be available for a limited time until Monday, November 24, 2025.

The Back to the Future film series consists of three films released between 1985 and 1990.
