BB-20 packaging. The BB-20 is available in white, black, and blue.

I took it out of the package. The BB-20 has a thinner frame than previous models, and the buttons are on the side instead of the surface, which allows for a slimmer body size while still providing ample writing space.

If you look at the back you can see the color clearly.

The BB-20 is 134mm wide, 191mm high, and has an 8.5-inch screen. Below is a side-by-side comparison with the iPhone 16, which is 71mm wide and 147mm high.

The BB-20 is about 7mm thick, slightly thinner than the iPhone 16, which is about 8mm thick.
The BB-20 weighs just 119g, including the battery and pen. Its size and weight are similar to an A4 notebook, making it easy to carry around.

The BB-20 has a stylus pen on the top.

The stylus pen can be slid out and removed.

The top surface has grooves on both sides, so you can place the stylus on either the left or right side.

On the left side there is a strap holder, a lock switch to prevent accidental erasure of the screen, and a screen erase button.

There are no buttons on the right side or bottom.

There is a battery compartment on the back.

Remove the battery cover with a Phillips head screwdriver.

I was able to remove the battery. The BB-20 uses a single coin-type lithium battery (

Let's actually try writing a note with BB-20. You can see how to operate BB-20 and write characters by watching the movie below.
The BB-20 does not have a power button, so you can take notes immediately by simply writing.

In addition to using the included stylus, you can also draw lines using your fingernail.

To erase a note, press the erase button on the left.

The screen has been reset.

To prevent the erase button from being accidentally pressed and your notes erased while in your bag, the device has a lock function. Slide the switch above the erase button upwards to lock it.

When locked, you can write notes, but pressing the erase button will not reset the screen.

The BB-20 is slim and lightweight, yet offers a large drawing area and a locking function to prevent notes from being accidentally erased, making it ideal for taking notes or doodling on the go. It doesn't have an eraser or partial erasure function, so you have to reset the entire screen, making it unsuitable for keeping records that require detailed corrections. However, it's recommended for people who need to take quick notes or communicate by writing for work or hobbies, or for those who want a more convenient electronic memo pad than a tablet to doodle on the go.
In the next article, we will be taking a closer look at the feature that allows you to record notes on BB-20 in conjunction with a smartphone app, as well as a more detailed look at the drawing experience, so stay tuned.
