LG has established a strong presence with its webOS-based in-car entertainment system, the Automotive Content Platform (ACP), and plans to supply ACP to 20 million vehicles by 2030. At the same time, the company has announced partnerships with Microsoft and Zoom to expand its content offerings.

Through a partnership with Microsoft, the Xbox app will be integrated into the ACP, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers with a compatible Bluetooth controller and internet access to play popular titles like 'Doom: The Dark Ages' and 'Forza Horizon 5' through the ACP.

'At Xbox, we're always looking for new ways to bring the joy of gaming to more people, wherever they are, and through our collaboration with LG, we're expanding new gaming experiences and value to our players,' said Chris Lee, vice president of marketing for Xbox. 'Soon, passengers will be able to access their game library and take their progress with them wherever they go - on the road or at home. Bringing Xbox to the in-car experience not only makes every trip more enjoyable, but also delivers the flexibility players expect from Xbox.'

In addition, through a partnership with Zoom announced at the same time, the Zoom app will also be integrated into ACP, helping to ensure safe driving and enabling drivers and passengers to hold meetings across multiple vehicles to efficiently complete tasks.

'At Zoom, we believe interactions happen where people come together, whether at home, at the office, or even in the car,' said Brendan Ittelson, executive vice president of Zoom. 'This partnership marks an important milestone as we help people communicate and connect on the go and redefine what's possible in the car.'

In addition, the introduction of video streaming services to ACP is also progressing, with YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and others already available, and U-NEXT is expected to be added soon.

ACP is installed in Hyundai's Genesis GV80 and Kia's EV3.

By the way, speaking of combining in-car entertainment systems with games, Tesla made it possible to play Steam in its cars in 2022, but the service was discontinued after a year and a half.
