Perplexity releases AI-equipped web browser 'Comet', which can automatically operate emails and GitHub with AI and give instructions while interacting with voice, with the motto being 'browsing at the speed of thought'

Perplexity, which develops AI search services, released the AI-equipped web browser ' Comet ' on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Users can instruct Comet by text or voice to perform tasks such as 'send email' and 'write code'. Perplexity is promoting Comet with the catchphrase 'Browse at the speed of thought'.

Here's what Comet looks like. Comet is equipped with Perplexity's own search engine, which allows you to search various information while summarizing it with AI, and can also automatically execute tasks using web apps.
Operations using the web app can be carried out through a chat-like interface.

You can also display the chat screen on the right side of the screen and operate the web app while checking the screen. During automatic operation, the web app display area will be surrounded by a blue frame.

X (formerly Twitter) has posted several videos documenting the use of Comet. In the following post, you can see how the command 'Find LinkedIn posts relevant to you' is automatically executed.
A new agentic browser just shipped from Perplexity and it's pretty wild.

Watch this video of @PerplexityComet taking over my LinkedIn tab and taking actions on my part.
Interesting UX where the tab glows blue as it's taking actions.
I like the integration of agentic actions… pic.twitter.com/QEv4EatVtR
Comet also supports code generation and GitHub interactions.
Vibe coding with @PerplexityComet - asked the browser agent to build me a simple (locally run) yt-dlp wrapper. It navigated to github, created the repo, wrote/committed/pushed the code. You can even make changes to your code from the sidecar, feels like an AI IDE lmao 😂 pic.twitter.com/tQ8QxnhGKJ

In addition, Comet is equipped with a voice dialogue function, so you can simply tell Comet what you want to do and it will understand your message and carry out various operations.
