GIGAZINE conducts

a survey three times a year, in spring, summer, and winter, and analyzes ' What kind of people are GIGAZINE readers? ' based on the answers of enthusiastic GIGAZINE readers who participate in the survey. While analyzing the hobbies and preferences of GIGAZINE readers, this time we looked into the pocket money situation of GIGAZINE readers.

The survey received over 4,000 responses, with the ratio of men to women being overwhelmingly higher at 86 to 14.

The average amount of pocket money given to survey respondents was about 37,200 yen. The highest amount of pocket money was 1 million yen, and the lowest was 0 yen.

Only 34% of people receive an allowance of more than the average (approximately 37,200 yen).

Super-rich GIGAZINE users with pocket money of over 100,000 yen make up about 10% of the survey respondents.

We conducted a more detailed analysis of the average pocket money of GIGAZINE readers.

Looking at the average amount of pocket money by gender, men spent about 38,200 yen, which is 1,000 yen higher than the overall average, while women spent an average of about 30,800 yen, which is lower.

When we looked into whether married or unmarried people receive more pocket money, we found that the average pocket money for married people was about 36,000 yen, while the average pocket money for unmarried people was about 37,900 yen, which is slightly higher than the overall average.

Looking more closely, the average pocket money of married people with children was about 32,900 yen, significantly lower than the overall average, while the average pocket money of married people without children was quite high at about 43,100 yen.

The average pocket money of unmarried people with children is about 33,400 yen, while the average pocket money of unmarried people without children is about 38,100 yen.
