The model used by this user was the Forerunner .
Similar issues have been reported by users of the Venu 3 .
Garmin has responded to these reports by launching an investigation, and on January 29, 2025, they stated, 'We are currently receiving reports of a bug worldwide where some Garmin devices are experiencing a sudden flashing triangle icon on the screen during use. We are currently investigating this issue in detail, so please be patient until we can resolve the issue.'
The models in which the defect has been confirmed are as follows:
・Forerunner series
・vivoactive 5
・Venu 3
Edge 1040
・Descent Mk3
・epix Pro (Gen 2)
・Fenix 7 series
・Instinct 3 Series
Garmin also stated that it is 'investigating reports of devices displaying a blue triangle icon when starting a GPS activity,' and as a solution, it said, 'Pressing and holding the power button until the device powers off and then powering it back on may temporarily restore functionality. We will provide additional information when a permanent fix is available.'
Some users have suggested that until Garmin releases a patch to fix the issue, you should try to do activities without using GPS. Also, disabling GPS tracking in the settings will prevent the app from crashing.
