A sequel to the anime 'Blue Lock' has been confirmed, and a live-action film adaptation will also be made, set to be released in 2026, the year of the World Cup.

On Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at the event ' Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025 ,' where cast members of the anime 'Blue Lock' also appeared, it was announced that a sequel to the TV series would be produced.
'Blue Lock' is a soccer manga serialized in 'Weekly Shonen Magazine' by the duo of original author Muneyuki Kaneshiro and manga artist Yusuke Nomura. It is a popular work with a total circulation of over 50 million copies worldwide as of September 2025, and won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category.
The first series of the anime began airing in the fall of 2022, followed by the release of the film Blue Lock: Episode Nagi in April 2024, and the second series Blue Lock VS. U-20 JAPAN in the fall of 2024.
Regarding the decision to produce a sequel, Kaneshiro and Nomura made the following comments:

Additionally, new visuals for the currently popular touring 'Blue Lock Exhibition EGOIST EXHIBITION the animation Extra Time' have also been released. Further information is scheduled to be released at the end of October 2025.
It was also announced that a live-action film adaptation will be made, scheduled for release in 2026, the year of the World Cup.
