In 2019, Amazon announced Echo Frames, smart glasses equipped with the AI assistant Alexa.

The lineup will be revamped in 2023.

The Echo Frames are just regular glasses with Alexa built into the frames, but the big difference with the new AR glasses is that they also have integrated visual capabilities.
The consumer 'Jayhawk' will reportedly feature a full-color display on one side of the lens, a camera and audio system built into the frame, and tight integration with Alexa and Amazon shopping features. It is expected to be released in late 2026 or early 2027.
The Amelia vehicle for businesses is designed to streamline Amazon's logistics network and help delivery drivers sort and deliver packages more efficiently. It is scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2026, ahead of the Jayhawk.
Meta, which is ahead of Amazon in the development of smart glasses, is rumored to be releasing its consumer smart glasses, 'Hypernova,' in September 2025, and it appears the two companies will be competing head-on in this field.
