I tried out various AI-enabled apps for the Pixel 10 series, including 'Magic Cue' and a review: how well do they work in a Japanese environment?

◆Magic Cue (Magic Suggestion)
Magic Cue , known in Japan as Magic Suggest, is a feature that links multiple apps to display the necessary actions when needed. Google cites a use case where, when calling an airline, flight information is retrieved from your Gmail itinerary and displayed during the call.

I actually tried it out. Below is a screenshot of the message 'Tell me your schedule for September 15th!' opened in the Google Messages app. The words 'Show Calendar' appear in the bottom right, and tapping them launches the Calendar app.

Next, when I asked, 'Shall we meet at our usual cafe at 1pm?', the words 'View Calendar' and 'Open Maps' were displayed again.

When I tapped 'Open Maps,' the Google Maps app launched and automatically searched for 'my usual cafe.'

According to overseas reviews, when you talk about an appointment, the words 'Create an appointment' appear, allowing you to instantly open the appointment creation screen or read information from Gmail to check your appointment , but this did not work in our editorial environment.
You can check the Magic Suggest settings by tapping 'Magic Suggest' in the Settings app.
Tap 'Use data from specific apps' to configure which apps Magic Suggest can retrieve information from.

During testing, it retrieved information from Pixel screenshots, Gmail, Messages, Keep notes, contacts, and calendars.

Another use case from Google states, 'Your friend asks for a specific photo, but you end up scrolling endlessly through their gallery. Whether they're asking for 'that photo I took at the park last week' or 'a screenshot of a recipe,' Magic Cue works to understand your request and finds the right image to share without leaving the conversation.'
When I actually asked for a photo on the Pixel 10 using the Messages app, the words 'Share Photo' appeared.

The image folder contains photos from the Pixel 10.

Tapping 'Share Photos' launched Google Photos, but it didn't search for the Pixel 10; it simply displayed all the images stored in its internal storage. At the time of writing, Magic Suggest's functionality appears to be limited.

◆Gemini Live
Gemini Live, a real-time AI assistant, can be used with the Pixel 10 series and provides
First, launch the Gemini app and tap the Gemini Live icon.

Tap the camera icon to launch the camera.

When you ask a question, it will search for the appropriate information in the image captured by the camera, highlight it with a white frame or white dot, and answer your question.

When I showed him the product box and asked, 'What does the CE marking mean?' he correctly highlighted the CE marking and explained its meaning.

The questions and answers are recorded as text so you can review them later.

◆Make music with a recorder
You can add AI-generated music to recorded audio using the official recording app, 'Recorder.' To use it, open Recording and tap the menu icon in the top right.

Tap 'Create Music.'

Select the atmosphere and tap 'Next.'

It will be completed after a while.

I recorded the actual process. The video is uncut so you can see how long it takes to generate. It took about 20 seconds to generate a 20-second recording.
The recording file with AI-generated music can be saved separately from the original file.
