A feature that allows you to play games through GeForce NOW on Discord will be coming soon. No download or installation of games is required. Epic Games' 'Fortnite' will be available first, and users can start playing immediately by simply connecting their Epic Games account. Normally, GeForce NOW requires a subscription fee, but a special limited-time trial will be available, allowing you to play for free even without a GeForce NOW membership.

Fortnite will be streamed at a maximum resolution of 1440p and 60 FPS.

'Today, the process of discovering a game that a user loves involves tedious and time-consuming processes like downloading, installing, and patching,' said Stanislav Vishnevsky, co-founder and chief engineer at Discord. 'By working with NVIDIA to deliver an instant-play experience powered by GeForce NOW, we're enabling users to jump into games instantly.'

Gaming on Discord is made possible by a major upgrade to GeForce NOW.

NVIDIA has revamped its GeForce NOW gaming processor to a

Blackwell -based one, making RTX 5080-class GPUs available for cloud gaming services.

This upgrade enables cloud gaming services to utilize advanced features such as NVIDIA DLSS 4 multi-frame generation , previously only available on cutting-edge gaming PCs, enabling streaming at up to 5K resolution and 120 FPS.

In addition, integration with NVIDIA Reflex now supports 1080p resolution and 360 FPS, reducing latency to as little as 30 milliseconds.

Additionally, GeForce NOW will also include a new feature called 'Install-to-Play,' which allows users to play games without waiting for official NVIDIA review, doubling the GeForce NOW library.

Install-to-Play games are installed on NVIDIA's cloud storage, and users can launch them at any time through the cloud service without having to download and reinstall them for each session. GeForce NOW Ultimate and Performance members get 100GB of cloud storage at no additional cost, with monthly fees for expansion.

Other upgrades include the ability to manage anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, and ambient occlusion options entirely within the NVIDIA app.
