ChatGPT has added a 'learning mode' that can help with homework and study, so I tried it out. It helps users improve without immediately telling them the answer.

ChatGPT has added a ' Learning Mode .' Learning Mode doesn't immediately provide answers to questions, but rather helps users improve by showing them step-by-step instructions on how to reach the answer. It was available even with the free plan, so I tried it out.
Introducing Learning Mode | OpenAI
To use Learning Mode, click 'Tools' in the chat input field, then click 'Support for all learning.'

The first time you try it, an explanation of the learning mode will be displayed, so click 'Try it now' to close the explanation screen.

Next, enter the information you want to know and click the send button. In this case, I entered 'How do I divide a 2-liter bottle of Coke between four people?'

In normal ChatGPT mode, the answer would be something like 'Just distribute 500 milliliters each,' but in learning mode, it showed me the order of thought and then asked me a counter-question: 'First, do you know how many milliliters there are in 1 liter?'

When I deliberately gave an incorrect answer, the teacher followed up with a 'Come on!' and told me the correct numbers, then showed me the division formula.
After solving the division problem, you arrive at the answer '500 milliliters per person.' Learning mode doesn't end here; it presents you with a check question to check that you understand the concept.

Even after answering the confirmation questions, it was possible to challenge other questions. By using the learning mode, you can experience the learning process of 'learning how to solve the questions in order and solving the confirmation questions until you master them' for free.

This time I tried it with some easy problems, but the learning mode was developed with university students in mind and can also handle more difficult problems such as game theory and discrete mathematics.
Learning mode is available to users on the Free, Plus, Pro, and Team plans, and will be available on ChatGPT Edu in the coming weeks.
