In September 2024, Iron Mouse launched a campaign to donate all subscription revenue to the Immune Deficiency Foundation , which gained 314,146 subscribers, the most in Twitch history at the time. The donation was made to an organization that conducts charitable and awareness-raising activities for common immunodeficiency syndrome, which Iron Mouse also suffers from.

However, nine months after the campaign, Iron Mouse posted a video on his YouTube channel titled 'Why I left VShojo,' claiming that VShojo had not paid more than $515,000 to the Immunodeficiency Foundation. Iron Mouse joined VShojo in 2020 and said that their initial relationship was ideal. He said that the agency handled the business side of things, allowing him to focus on streaming while maintaining his privacy.
However, the relationship between the two parties fell apart when VShojo stopped making payments to the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Iron Mouse said, 'Most importantly, the Immune Deficiency Foundation is owed more than $500,000 (approximately 73 million yen) by VShojo. I would really like to give you more details, but I have been told to wait for the legal process. For now, I am an independent VTuber.'

Iron Mouse also posted on his official X account, 'If there are any artists or musicians who have worked with me through VShojo and have never received payment, please contact me as soon as possible to get your payment. I am truly sorry,' asking any creators who have worked with him and have not received payment to contact him.

Iron Mouse isn't the only one to voice his criticism of VShojo.
KSON broadcast a message titled 'Explaining the situation to all my supporters and my current situation and future plans,' in which he said, 'The agency has lied to me many times about the situation,' and 'They stopped paying my salary since September of last year. For a long time, I asked them many times what was going on, but they only told me that I would be paid, and in the end I wasn't paid. I don't think I'll be paid in the future either,' and announced his departure from VShojo.

As of today I will be terminating my contract with VShojo effective immediately and I will be returning to being an independent VTuber and content creator. Nothing about my content will change, as I was indie for 18 years before signing with VShojo, and I retain my IP. My love…

KURO posted, 'I didn't want to say anything until everything was confirmed, but since everyone is speculating, I'll say it: I will not be staying here (VShojo). I submitted the withdrawal contract 11 days ago and have already had a meeting. The reason the VShojo brand logo is still here is because they have to remove it themselves. As members, I can't remove it myself. It's the same for the other members. Anyway, I'm just waiting for the contract to be fully fulfilled and completed, and I feel like I'm back to being a solo artist. Lol.'
i didnt want to say anything until its finalized but since people keep making assumptions, no i am not staying here ive already submitted a leave contract and had that meeting 11 days ago

At the time of writing, 13 VTubers were listed on the VShojo official website, but most of them have announced that they will be suspending their streaming or leaving VShojo. Game media Kotaku reported, 'It is unclear whether this is a show of solidarity with Iron Mouse or due to widespread payment issues.'
'We know what we're good at and what we want to get better at,' VShojo CEO Justin 'TheGunrun' Ignacio said in an interview with Rolling Stone. 'We want to leverage that and empower our creators and talented people to articulate what success means to them so we can work together to make it happen.'
