Gigabyte has released a patch to fix a memory corruption vulnerability that has been discovered in older Gigabyte motherboards using Intel's 8th to 11th generation chipsets. Users who own an affected motherboard are advised to update their BIOS.

According to GIGABYTE, there are multiple memory corruption vulnerabilities in the System Management Mode (SMM) module used in some motherboards released under the GIGABYTE or AORUS brand. If exploited, these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker with local access to escalate privileges or execute arbitrary code within a highly privileged SMM environment.
Below are the affected Intel platforms and the BIOS update release schedule. A BIOS update is recommended for GIGABYTE or AORUS branded motherboards with these chipsets.
