Epic Games posted a message to X (formerly Twitter) saying, 'We have taken legal action against two individuals who broke the rules and engaged in cheating. One was selling and using cheating tools, and the other conducted a cyberattack (a.k.a. DDoS attack) against a content creator who was live streaming gameplay. Both individuals have been ordered to stop these activities and have been banned from playing Fortnite. If you break the rules, there's a price to pay.' They then linked to two YouTube videos.
These videos are apology videos posted by two individuals who were sanctioned by Epic Games.
The first video was from a user named Mirrored, who sold the cheat tool. It is a short, silent 25-second video that displays the following text: 'I apologize to the Fortnite community for cheating in the Fortnite tournament and for distributing cheats and hardware that enable others to cheat. Legal action has been taken against you for violating Epic Games' rules. You will be permanently banned from playing Fortnite, and if you sell or distribute cheat tools again in the future, legal action will be taken.'
