To download the Windows version, go to the BrowserOS release page above and download 'BrowserOS_v0.11.0_windows_x64.zip' from 'Assets' at the bottom. The file size is about 103MB.

Unzip the downloaded ZIP file using the standard Windows function or a tool such as

After the installation is complete, start up BrowserOS and you'll see something like this.

Click the kebab icon in the top right and select Settings.
BrowserOS allows you to choose which AI agent to use, by default it is set to BrowserOS AI.

Looking at the 'ACTIVE PROVIDER' pull-down menu, in addition to BrowserOS, you could also choose 'OpenAI,' 'Athropic,' 'Gemini,' and 'Ollama.'

Clicking 'Agent' in the upper right corner opens a conversation window with the AI agent on the right side of the screen.

Below is the result of searching for 'How to make simple curry rice' with the AI agent in BrowserOS. If you display the top of the Google search on the left side of the screen, the search query will automatically plan tasks, create a checklist, execute them in order, and display the list. It is a little heavy on a slightly old laptop with a 10th generation Intel Core-i7 and 16GB of memory, but it runs without any problems.
BrowseOS AI runs on the browser, not on the cloud. To use OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini, you need to prepare an API key, but to use Ollama, you only need to prepare a local model. In the future, BrowseOS will also have an AI-driven ad blocker.

The BrowserOS development team commented, 'For the first time since Netscape in 1994, we feel like we can rethink the browser from scratch. We've already seen that Cursor has improved developer productivity by 10x, but browsers feel trapped in a relic of the past. We believe that AI agents need to automate work safely locally, rather than sending user data to search and advertising companies.'
