At the 'Takahata Isao Cafe Exhibition,' we tried collaboration food inspired by Isao Takahata's works, including the raccoon dogs' favorite hamburgers

In conjunction with the '

Takahata Isao Exhibition - The Man Who Created Japanese Animation, ' which will be held at the Azabudai Hills Gallery from Friday, June 27, 2025, the Azabudai Hills Gallery Cafe will be a limited-time collaboration cafe called ' Takahata Isao Exhibition Cafe ,' so I went to try out the menu.

We arrived at Azabudai Hills Gallery Cafe.

All the menus were lined up.

There are seven types of menus like this. Six of them are seasonal menus, but one is replaced between the first and second half of the year, so eight types of menus are offered in total during the period.

The ' Papanda Curry ' (1,780 yen including tax) features a large Papanda face and is a mild curry. Asparagus and fried burdock are used to represent a bamboo grove.

A feast for the human world that even raccoons can't resist: ' Our Favorite Burger ' (1,680 yen including tax). This is a limited-time menu item.

' Immoral Shortcake ' (1,150 yen including tax) is a traditional shortcake topped with plenty of whipped cream.

The ' Mimiko's Fried Egg Dessert Plate ' (1,580 yen including tax) is a rare cheesecake made from the fried egg that Mimiko threw when she couldn't catch it. It comes with French toast.

' Sweet pineapple soda that I want to share with my child ' (980 yen including tax).

' Pan-chan Parent and Child Bamboo Grove Milk ' (1,280 yen including tax) is a matcha milk drink inspired by Pan-chan and Papanda, who live happily in the bamboo grove.

' Sparkling Drops Cider ' (980 yen including tax).

' Mountaintop Lunch Set ' (1,480 yen including tax) for later seasons.

This time, we actually ordered 'Our Favorite Burger' and 'Sweet Pineapple Soda I Want to Share with My Child.'

It's a classic hamburger where the sourness of the ketchup goes well with the patty, and it's easy to understand why the raccoon would want to stack several of them and munch on them.

Pineapple juice served with sliced, ripe pineapples. I wish the Okajima family had had the chance to try pineapples this ripe.

Next to the cafe is the museum shop.

The catalogue costs 2,750 yen including tax.

The Shokichi stuffed toy will only be available at the exhibition.
