The Exynos 2500, which was unveiled just before Samsung's new product launch event 'Unpacked,' is a mobile chip that is described as 'delivering an unprecedented AI experience,' combining a CPU to improve performance, a GPU to improve gaming graphics, and an NPU to enable advanced AI functions.
The Exynos 2500 uses the Arm architecture CPU core ' Cortex-X925 ' to improve AI performance. It is said that there are three cores: 'large core', 'medium core', and 'small core', each of which has a 1+7+2 (10-core) configuration. The Cortex-X925 installed in the large core contributes greatly to performance, while the mid-core effectively reduces power consumption during general use such as launching apps. The performance of the big core has improved by 15% from the previous model, and it is explained that 'heavy apps can be run without any problems. Multiple apps can be run comfortably at the same time.'

The GPU is the 4th generation 'Xclipse 950' that uses AMD's RDNA 3 architecture. The improved rendering speed improves hardware-accelerated ray tracing, resulting in a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.

The NPU is powerful enough to perform up to 59 TOPS (up to 59 trillion operations per second), enabling on-device AI that is 39% better than the previous generation model. It also comes equipped with AI-based image processing technology, and when combined with the ultra-high resolution camera of up to 320MP, it can record and play 8K video at 60fps and 30fps, respectively. The image signal processor has been upgraded, allowing you to capture vivid images and videos in high resolution. In addition, AI can easily remove unwanted subjects and enlarge backgrounds when editing and processing.

In terms of communications, the phone is equipped with a 5G NR modem that complies with the 3GPP standard , enabling seamless 5G communications. This modem achieves download speeds of up to 9.6Gbps in Frequency Range 1 (FR1) and up to 12.1Gbps in Frequency Range 2 (FR2). This means that spectral efficiency has improved by more than 20% compared to existing modems. In addition, the Exynos 2500's built-in modem is also characterized by its non-terrestrial network function that uses satellite communications to achieve stable connections even in areas where smartphone signals cannot reach. It also supports GNSS, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.
The Exynos 2500 is expected to be featured in the upcoming smartphone 'Galaxy Z Flip 7.' 'Unpacked,' which is expected to include the Galaxy Watch 8 series, is scheduled to be held on July 9, 2025.
