In its statement, Gonceshke Darange said: 'We carried out a cyber attack to destroy the data of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Sepah Bank. Sepah Bank has evaded international sanctions and used the Iranian people's funds to finance the regime's terrorist proxies, ballistic missile program and military nuclear development program. This is the fate of an institution dedicated to maintaining the dictator's terrorist illusion. We are grateful to the brave Iranian people who made this operation possible.'
Gonjeshke-Darange has previously claimed responsibility for attacks in Iran, including on steel mills, railroad networks, and gas station payment systems. Although the identity of the group's members is unknown, it has consistently taken a stance against the Iranian government and in support of Israel.
Iranian authorities and Sepah Bank have not commented on the matter.
