Nintendo Switch 2 owners who use a Mig cartridge face an indefinite ban | The Verge

The MIG SWITCH is a device that is identical in shape to the cartridges and game cards used by Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and is advertised as being able to store multiple game data on a single card and load it into the game console.

MIG SWITCH is sold through online stores, and the sales page has advertising slogans such as 'No modification required' and 'Compatible with all models.' MIG SWITCH can also store 'data extracted from game software you purchased yourself,' but it is believed that many MIG SWITCH users use 'pirated game data published on the Internet by someone.'

Regarding MIG SWITCH, several users have reported that when they tried to use MIG SWITCH on Nintendo Switch 2, they were unable to start games or access Nintendo's online services.
According to reports, if you set the MIG SWITCH on the Nintendo Switch 2 even once, the error code '2124-4007' or '2124-4508' will be displayed. X account
My Switch 2 test has been banned, after using the mig switch with perfectly legal dumps of my own cartridges, so it would seem that Nintendo can detect something

Nintendo's support page states that error codes '2124-4007' and '2124-4508' appear when a user violates Nintendo's Terms of Use, and that devices that display these error codes will be permanently banned from connecting to the internet.
According to SwitchTools, another Nintendo Switch 2 that has never had a MIG SWITCH installed can play games and access online services without any problems. For this reason, it is highly likely that the ban caused by the MIG SWITCH is targeted at the game console rather than the account.
My first Nintendo Switch 2, for which I never used the Switch mig, is still working

And so is the cartridge I dumped
No ban on the horizon for this one.
The following Reddit user reported that they encountered a similar issue after using MIG FLASH, a similar tool to MIG SWITCH, on their Nintendo Switch 2.
Below is the proof photo posted by a Reddit user, showing the Nintendo Switch 2 and MIG FLASH.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is displaying the error code '2124-4508,' making it impossible to play games or access online services.
