Adobe releases image generation AI 'Firefly' app for Android and iOS, Google's image generation AI 'Imagen', video generation AI 'Veo', and OpenAI's image generation AI can also be used
Adobe's generation AI 'Firefly' has been released as a mobile app for Android and iOS. It can generate images and videos from text, and uses the generation fill function and generation extensions that are also included in Adobe Photoshop. Everything generated on the Adobe Firefly mobile app is automatically synced to the user's Creative Cloud account, making it easy to work on the web or Adobe's desktop apps.

This time, I tried the Android version on my Pixel 9 Pro XL. Tap 'Install' on the Google Play store page .
Once installed, launch 'Adobe Firefly'.
A message will appear explaining the collection of usage data, so tap 'Continue'.
Tap Start.
The Adobe Firefly screen looks like this.
The UI is simple, just select an image or video, enter the text prompt, and tap 'Generate.' In this example, we will generate an image with the text prompt 'Astronaut riding a horse on the moon.'
Adobe Firefly is basically free to use, but you will need to log in to your Adobe account. The login screen will appear, so log in to your Adobe account.
Now we are on the image generation screen. From the bottom menu, we can change settings such as the generation model, content type, visual coverage, composition, and style.
Adobe's image generation AI models that can be used with the Adobe Firefly mobile app are Firefly Image 4 Ultra, Firefly Image 4, and Firefly Image 3. However, Firefly Image 4 Ultra cannot be used unless you sign up for a premium plan that costs 7,400 yen per year or 740 yen per month.
In addition to Adobe products, you can also choose Google's Imagen 4, Imagen 3, and OpenAI's GPT Image, but these are only available to premium plan users.
The images were generated in this way. Each generation takes about 30 to 40 seconds, and four images are generated.
Here is one of the images generated. I had it painted in the style of an oil painting, but you can see that it was generated with such high accuracy that you wouldn't realize it was AI-generated unless you were told.
You can save the image to your device by tapping the button in the top right corner of the image.
From the 'Edit' button in the upper left, you can generate videos from generated images, as well as perform various image-based processing and operations such as 'generated fill' and 'generate similar items.'
One credit is required for each image generation, and 25 credits are given per month for free. In this case, since the account was registered with the Creative Cloud single-seat plan, 500 credits were given.

Return to the top and this time, select 'Video' to generate a video, enter the text prompt, and tap 'Generate.' Note that free accounts can only generate up to two videos per month.
A video with a playback time of 5 seconds was generated in approximately 30 to 40 seconds.
The generated video looks like this. For some reason, the dragon's tail is slightly separated from the dragon's body, but the video is generally generated as instructed.
This time I tried printing from the same text prompt at 1080p resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio, adjusting the camera and composition settings.
The second one I created is below. For some reason, the girl is breathing fire more brightly, but other than that, it was created without any problems.

Adobe also updated its collaborative whiteboarding tool, Firefly Boards , to add video creation capabilities. Adobe said new partner models, including Luma AI's Ray 2 , Ideogram 3.0 , and Runway Gen-4 , will be brought to Firefly Boards, and other Firefly app features will be available 'soon.'
