I tried out the AI function of the 'Xiaomi 15' that can transcribe in real time and summarize the recorded content while recording with a smartphone. There is also an automatic generation function for long sentences that are troublesome to type.

The Xiaomi 15 is a high-performance smartphone that uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and is equipped with a large 12GB RAM. ◆ Record while transcribing in real time
The 'Recorder' that comes standard with the Xiaomi 15 has a function that allows you to record audio and transcribe it in real time.
Below is a video of a person actually speaking on a recorder. While recording, the transcribed text is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The transcription accuracy is quite high.
Once you record a certain amount of audio, it will display a summary of the content as an 'AI Summary.'
Below is the result of recording the conversation between the two of them.
It automatically recognizes when multiple people are participating in a conversation and distinguishes who is speaking, such as 'Speaker 1' and 'Speaker 2.' However, it sometimes showed 'Speaker 3' even though there were only two people talking, and the breaks were strange. It seems to be a bit weak at transcribing conversations with multiple people.
Still, the summary is pretty accurate.
An internet connection is required to use the real-time transcription and summarization features. If you are offline, you will see the message 'A network error has occurred. Please try again' and will not be able to use the features.
When we contacted Xiaomi, we were told that the AI function is realized using Google's 'Gemini 2.5 Flash', 'Gemini 2.5 Pro (Preview)', and 'Gemini with Personalization (Preview)', and that the AI model used in the AI function of the Xiaomi 15 will also be updated according to updates on the Google side.
◆Sentence generation function
The Xiaomi 15 also has an AI-based text generation function. To test it out, I'll try generating text in a memo app.
Launch the Memo app and tap the button in the red frame at the top of the keyboard.
A prompt input screen will then appear, so enter the description of the text you want to generate and tap the send button. In this example, I entered 'Email apologizing for being late.'
The following text was generated in a few seconds. All you need to do is replace the part that says '[your name]' to use it as an apology for being late.
You can also have AI rewrite text you've entered. First, enter text into the memo app and then tap the AI button.
The following menu will then be displayed. From this menu, you can summarize the text or rewrite it in a style appropriate for the person you are speaking to. In this example, tap 'Friendly.'
The commanding tone of the sentences was changed to softer tone of voice.
