Project Defiant looks like this. It has a digital stick on the left side and large buttons on the right side, making it a fighting game controller. The digital stick can be fitted with 'square', 'circular' or 'octagonal' restriction gates. It also has the same type of touchpad as the DualSense .
The upper left of the main unit is equipped with a PS button, and by pressing and holding the PS button, it is possible to start the PlayStation 5. In addition, to the right of the PS button are the create button used to take screenshots.
The L3 button, R3 button, and option button are lined up in the upper right corner. The buttons use mechanical switches.
Project Defiant supports ultra-low latency wireless connection with 'PS Link wireless technology,' allowing you to accurately capture input timing on the PlayStation 5 series and PC. In addition, it also supports wired connection via USB Type-C.
Project Defiant is scheduled to be released in 2026, with the official product name and release date to be announced in the future.
