Later, a video of Ballie with a major redesign was released at CES 2024. It was highlighted by its many functions, including an AI chatbot that can be used to communicate with people via smartphone, a built-in camera to monitor the inside of the home, and a built-in projector that can project a screen onto a wall for online meetings.

Then, on April 10, 2025, Samsung announced that it had expanded its partnership to incorporate Google Cloud's generative AI technology into Ballie. The initial partnership was to incorporate Google's multimodal AI, Gemini, into Samsung's Galaxy S24 series in 2024. Samsung said, 'As a result of Ballie, Samsung and Google Cloud are exploring ways to expand generative AI collaboration to a wider range of devices.'
According to Samsung, Ballie is equipped with Gemini's multimodal capabilities and Samsung's own language model, and can process and understand various inputs such as voice, visual data from the camera, and environmental data obtained from sensors. For example, if you consult Ballie when you are wondering what to wear when you go out in the morning, it will give you advice on accessories and the color of your clothes.

In addition, the inference capabilities enhanced by Gemini will enable Ballie to support not only household management but also the physical and mental health of the user. If you tell Ballie, 'I'm tired today,' Ballie will use Google search and Gemini technology to share advice from trusted sources.
'Through this partnership, Samsung and Google Cloud will redefine the role of AI in the home,' said Kim Yeong-jae, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. 'By combining Gemini's powerful multi-modal inference with Samsung's Ballie AI capabilities, we will harness the power of open collaboration to usher in a new era of personalized AI companions that move with users, predict their needs and interact with them in more dynamic and meaningful ways than ever before.'
Ballie will be available in the US and South Korea in the summer of 2025. The price is unknown at the time of writing.
