Eat authentic Belgian waffles at the Osaka Kansai Expo, the Belgian pavilion is filled with the aroma of plants and even gives out Biscoff

When I visited the Belgian pavilion at

the preview of the Osaka Kansai Expo , I had the luxurious experience of being soothed by flowing water inside the pavilion and eating waffles on the rooftop terrace.

The Belgian pavilion looks like this.

At the entrance, we were given some Belgian biscuits called

Lotus Biscoff .

First, we were taken to a room surrounded by greenery. Water was falling from above.

The plants used are real, not artificial, and the room is filled with the scent of plants.

The water was pouring down from a circular device.

Further inside, there were videos and statues on display illustrating the development of medicines and prosthetic limbs in Belgium.

The exit from the exhibition area leads to the rooftop.

A ramp leading to the rooftop.

There was a restaurant terrace on the rooftop.

Of course, there are seats indoors too. However, the menu hasn't been completed yet today, so I couldn't find out the details of what was available.

I was given the opportunity to try the 'Liege waffle' which is sold from a food truck. The Liege waffle costs 400 yen including tax and is sold at a food truck set up next to the Belgium Pavilion.

The Liège waffle dough has sugar kneaded into it, giving it a nice crunchy texture.
