Corning's Gorilla Glass series is highly durable and is used as the cover glass material for many smartphones and tablets. For example, the Google smartphone Pixel 9 Pro uses ' Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 ' as the cover glass.

'Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic,' announced on March 26, 2025, has significantly improved 'resistance to drops on rough surfaces' compared to 'aluminosilicate glass,' a tempered glass used in smartphones, etc., making the screen of a smartphone and other devices less likely to break. It makes it possible.

Corning also tested the device under the most extreme conditions, dropping it 10 times from a height of 1 meter onto a surface that mimicked asphalt. The results showed that while the aluminosilicate glass broke on the first drop, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic survived the 10 drops.

Motorola plans to announce products featuring Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic in the coming months.
