Facebook revamps 'Friends' tab, ending recommended content and 'People You May Know' display

Here's how Meta showed the new Friends tab in action: There are three buttons at the top: 'Find friends,' 'Birthdays,' and 'Your friends,' and below that are vertical content previews, with the content display continuing down the bottom.

Swipe down the screen to view content posted by your friends.

A 'friend request' will appear along the way. You can close it by clicking the 'X' in the upper right.

Below that are more content posted by friends.

Next, we see 'Recent Birthdays.' As you can see, all the content displayed is related to friends, and there are no recommendations for content unrelated to friends, such as 'People You May Know.'
When you tap 'Find friends' at the top of the 'Friends' tab, a list of friend requests will appear, with 'You May Know' displayed below them.

Meta said of the changes, 'In the spirit that social media should be social, we'll be adding fun, simple experiences throughout the year to help people connect and share on Facebook.'
