'Time Portal' is a daily history quiz challenge where you have to guess the place and time from four AI-generated images.

A free quiz called ' Time Portal ' is available, where you can guess the place and time when a historical event occurred from four AI-generated videos about the event. I tried playing it myself, as it can be played on a browser.
Time Portal
Go to the Time Portal and click on 'PLAY DAILY CHALLENGE.'

Then, the following four were displayed: a man dressed in a priest's robe (top left), people building something like a church with stone (top right), a scene of meeting an important person (bottom left), and a crowd gathering in a square lined with a large number of crosses (bottom right). Each is a movie of about a few seconds, and you can play it by clicking it. From the image on the bottom right, I guess that Jesus Christ was executed. Click 'Place Your Guess'.

A map was displayed. I thought it was near Israel, so I put a pin there and clicked 'NEXT.'

Next, a slider bar will appear to let you guess the year. I think it's about 30 AD, so I set the slider to '30 AD' and click 'SUBMIT GUESS' to score.

The answer is 'Under King Ezana, the Kingdom of Aksum accepted Christianity and became a major Christian power in sub-Saharan Africa,' which is the conversion of King Ezana of the Kingdom of Aksum (present-day Ethiopia) to Christianity in the mid-4th century. Answers are scored out of 10,000 points.
The four videos show prompts such as 'A huge granite stele is engraved with ornaments, and King Ezana wears a golden crown with a cross. Aksumite nobles wear embroidered cotton tunics, carry iron spears with cross emblems, and hold newly minted bronze coins with Christian crosses engraved on them. This clearly marks the moment when the Kingdom of Aksum officially accepted Christianity.' 'Workers use iron chisels to carve out large blocks of volcanic rock. Traditional Aksumite multi-layered stone architecture, acacia scaffolding, mason's clothing wrapped in cotton cloth, and newly minted bronze coins with crosses mark the construction of an early Christian church in King Ezana's Aksum.' Click 'NEXT ROUND' to try the next problem.

Time Portal asks five questions a day. The second question looks like this:

Considering the telescope and mysterious disk-like items, I thought that this might be Copernicus proposing the heliocentric theory, so I chose 'Poland' as the location and the year 1500.

But the answer is 'Astronomer William Herschel discovers Uranus, expanding the known solar system for the first time in thousands of years.' The place is England, the time is 1781.

In this way, you will answer the place and time when historical events occurred based on four short movies generated by AI. The point is that it is generated by AI, and the images are not generated faithfully to the historical setting. Therefore, the key is to understand 'what situation is depicted in the image' rather than the visual image itself.

The results of solving five questions are as follows: I got 7680 points out of 50,000, and my average score was about 1500 points. It's quite tricky, so if you're confident in your knowledge of world history, I recommend you give it a try.
