Samsung to officially announce first Android XR headset 'Project Moohan' at MWC 2025

Samsung has announced that it will officially unveil its XR (mixed reality) headset, codenamed ' Project Moohan ,' at MWC 2025 , an event to be held in Barcelona, Spain from March 3rd to 6th, 2025.

Project Moohan is the first XR headset to feature Android XR , Google's OS for XR devices. It is equipped with a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor and features pancake lenses and automatic IPD (interpupillary distance) adjustment.

'Project Moohan is a groundbreaking device that brings together multimodal AI and advanced XR capabilities, marking a major step toward more contextual, personalized experiences that enhance everyday life in incredibly immersive ways,' Samsung said.

At MWC 2025, attendees will be able to experience Project Moohan for up to 30 minutes and will be allowed to take photos of the headset, so it's likely that we'll see more details about the device shortly after the announcement.

It's unclear whether Samsung will announce pricing and release details for Project Moohan at MWC 2025, but news site Android Authority predicted that 'if Project Moohan is announced, it will be a big topic at MWC 2025.'

At its MWC2025 booth, Samsung will also exhibit the Galaxy S25 Edge, a slim model in the Galaxy S25 series. In addition, the company will unveil the new Galaxy A series including the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G, Samsung's versatile virtualized RAN (vRAN) solution, a new private 5G network, and the Samsung CognitiV Network Operations Suite (NOS), an intelligent network automation solution.
