On February 11, 2025, e-commerce platform Shopify closed the official Yeezy store run by rapper Kanye West . West was selling T-shirts featuring the swastika, a symbol of Nazi Germany, on the store, and Shopify explained that the reason for the closure was 'for violating our terms and conditions.'

West will release a $20 T-shirt in the Yeezy store on February 9, 2025. The T-shirt is shown below, with a black swastika printed on the front.

In response, Shopify has shut down the Yeezy store. At the time of writing, if you access the Yeezy store, you will see the message 'This store is unavailable.'

Regarding the closure of West's store, Shopify said, 'All merchants are responsible for following the rules of our platform. This merchant was not conducting genuine commerce and violated our terms, so we have removed him from Shopify.' Shopify did not say which terms of service West violated, but foreign media NBC speculates that he may have violated Shopify's 'restriction on products or activities that we deem unsafe, inappropriate, or offensive.'

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) criticized, 'The swastika was adopted by Hitler as the primary symbol of Nazi Germany. This symbol continues to intimidate and instill fear in people who are targets of anti-Semitism and white supremacy. ' It also points out that the 'HH-01' label on the T-shirt is a code for 'Heil Hitler,' a typical Nazi phrase.

In response to the controversy, West said, 'I will not be selling swastika T-shirts because I believe they could cause physical harm to anyone who wears them. I love my fans and supporters.'
