On Monday, February 10, 2025 (local time), a group of investors led by Elon Musk announced that they had proposed to acquire AI company OpenAI for $97.4 billion (14.8 trillion yen). Meanwhile, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman rejected Musk's acquisition proposal and instead proposed to acquire Twitter (now X) for $9.74 billion (1.48 trillion yen).

If you're okay with it, I'll buy Twitter for $9.74 billion.' In addition, Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion (about 6.69 trillion yen) in October 2022.




According to a report from The Information, Altman plans to make it clear to OpenAI employees that the company is not interested in a 'possible acquisition offer from Musk.'
