Discord has set fairly new

minimum support requirements to 'provide the best experience,' requiring PC users to use 'Windows 10 or later, MacOS 11 (Big Sur), Ubuntu 20.04 or later, and Debian 11 or later.'

Discord Messenger was developed for the purpose of 'using Discord in the same way as the official client even from older operating systems,' and is compatible with operating systems that are more than 20 years old, such as Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. The minimum CPU requirements are 'Pentium 4' and memory '64MB,' so it can be expected to work on PCs released in the early 2000s.

It is fully compatible with Discord and the experience is exactly the same as the official client, but support is text only and voice and video chat is not available.

Future planned features include a friend list, dark mode, voice input, nickname changing, and 'more options' in the settings menu.

On the other hand, there are no plans to add features such as friend requests, logging in via QR code, or logging in using an email address and password.

By the way, Discord warns that the use of third-party apps or extending the functionality of the official client is a violation of the terms of service and is not recommended as it may result in account suspension.
