Agentforce is a tool that can be used on the Salesforce platform to resolve customer interactions, select customers who are interested in your products, review your marketing, and make other decisions and take actions. Unlike conventional chatbots, it allows you to build AI agents that use advanced reasoning capabilities to perform tasks autonomously.

According to Bloomberg, Salesforce plans to hire more than 1,000 employees to boost sales of Agentforce.

Although Agentforce has only been on the market for about a month, Salesforce says it has seen an 'incredible response,' suggesting that the company is aiming to increase sales of Agentforce.

'We're making these hires to capitalize on the incredible momentum behind our new AI products,' said Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

Salesforce, a top seller of customer management software, shifted its AI strategy in 2024 and began focusing on tools called 'agents' that perform tasks such as customer support and sales development without human supervision. Agentforce was launched just in October 2024 and was initially priced at about $2 (about 310 yen) per conversation.

Bloomberg pointed out that 'San Francisco-based Salesforce has been trying to rein in operating expenses by cutting staff and persuading some customers to use self-service and third-party purchasing options,' suggesting that Salesforce is aiming to reduce the burden on its employees by selling Agentforce.

Other software makers, including ServiceNow and Microsoft, are also developing autonomous AI for business purposes. For example, LinkedIn, a business social networking site under Microsoft, has developed an AI that can assist recruiters in the recruiting process and is offering it for a fee.
